volunteer for the
Covington Three Rivers Art Festival, and
President-elect of the St. Tammany
Leadership Alumni Foundation, which
"identifies, trains and supports emerging
leaders in the area,” said Ellis in the
announcement.
Inspired by his experience
completing the Leadership St. Tammany
program in 2008, Ellis founded
NorthshoreLinks.com, a Northshore
community portal and information website.
“It’s a valuable resource to many in the
community seeking local news, event
information, and pretty much anything
related to the Northshore,” he said.
Ellis, 37, attended
Northlake Christian School and graduated
from St. Paul's in Covington. He then
received his bachelor's degree from Baylor
University and his MBA from LSU, with
marketing and finance concentrations. Upon
graduation, David moved to Chicago and then
New York, gaining valuable experience
working for IBM as a financial analyst and
accountant.
Ellis returned to the area
in 2003, where most of his energies have
been focused on the growth and development
of his family's Mandeville-based insurance
company. David proudly says his greatest
achievement in life is being married to his
wonderful wife Susan and raising their two
children, Bradley and Caroline, together.
"If elected, I believe I will do an
excellent job for the City of Mandeville and
can help move the City in the right
direction," noted Ellis. "Working with the
Mandeville Civil Service Board, alongside
our police and city employees, I’ve been
exposed directly to our city’s most valuable
assets, its workforce. I plan to continue
serving our community and hope to do so as a
Mandeville City Council member beginning in
2012.”
